Swisher ESP Safety Shelter – 25-Person Private / 15-Person Business

The Swisher ESP Safety Shelter has been thoroughly tested and passed at the National Wind Institute at Texas Tech University. It successfully withstood nine direct impacts from 15 lb 2x4s traveling at 100 mph—simulating the same force produced by an EF5 tornado with wind speeds of up to 250 mph.

This above-ground shelter meets or exceeds all standards set by the NSSA, FEMA 320, and ICC-500. Swisher’s ESP (Emergency – Security – Preparedness) Safety Shelters are designed to offer top-level, multi-purpose protection for you and your loved ones—not just from violent weather events but also from various man-made threats.
Note: This shelter is not waterproof.

Each ESP Safety Shelter is certified to comply with National Storm Shelter Association (NSSA) standards. When installed according to the provided step-by-step checklist, it will also meet or exceed FEMA P320/P361 and ICC-500 code requirements.

All Swisher ESP Shelters are designed by registered structural engineers and undergo a strict third-party review process. Here’s what FEMA P-320 says:
“Having a safe room built for your home or small business can help provide 'near-absolute protection' for you and your family or employees from injury or death caused by the dangerous forces of extreme winds.”

FEMA P-361 defines “Near-Absolute Protection” as the level of protection given to people inside a safe room built according to the latest FEMA P-361 guidance. Based on current knowledge of tornadoes and hurricanes, this means occupants have a very high chance of avoiding injury or death.

Product Return Policy

Swisher Product Return Policy

  • All items must be returned within 30 days from the date they were received.
  • All items must be in original packaging and not altered or damaged in any way.
  • There will be a 25% restocking fee for all items returned.
  • Before returning an item, the customer must call SAI Customer Service at 1-800-222-8183 for an RMA number.
  • The RMA number must be visible on the outside of the return packaging.
  • All return freight is the responsibility of the customer.
  • All credit refunds will appear on the credit card statement once the items are returned and processed.  Please allow 5-7 business days for the credit to be complete.
  • SAI reserves all rights in making the final decision if an item should and will be returned, or if the return is not deemed necessary.  If there are any questions regarding the return policy, please contact an SAI representative and they will be happy to assist you.
